March 2009
All of these are true, disgustingly true.
I’m guilty of numbers 7, 6, 4, 2, and 1 (actually, I did 6 just a couple hours ago)
“You might have seen the press releases of the new shows coming to Cartoon Network. There’s a big shift in what this network will be next year, and we don’t know if we’ll still be a part of it. There will be new Chowders airing until the end of the year, but right now we’re winding down production. People get laid off starting at the end of next week. We could still be picked up, but it would be hard to reassemble the crew in its current form. If this really is the end, then it’s been a good run and we’ve had a lot of fun. I hope you all continue to enjoy the show.”
I didn’t realize it until I read that that I didn’t hear anything about Chowder being renewed; just that it would continue throughout the summer. I hope it does continue, as it’s definitely one of the best currently airing shows on the network, alongside Flapjack. I guess because these shows both still retain that classic “Cartoon Cartoon” feel that the network really grew with. It seems like it hasn’t been very long, but by this fall, it will have been two years since Chowder’s premiere. I don’t know how long the average lifespan of TV series are nowadays, but I would love to see it continue past that.
